A few words...

Faye is a 500h-certified Yoga Teacher in Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yin, registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT 500). She has a dancing background in classical ballet and contemporary dance, which provided her a solid foundation of movement and body awareness. Her classes draw inspiration from the human experience, nature, and music.

“I took my first yoga class many years ago at a local gym in my hometown. I blame the śavāsana and the guided body scan in dim light and silence for the impact the class had on me. I remember going home and thinking what a blessing it must be to have a job that requires you to make people feel the bliss I had just felt.”

Vinyasa - The Flow
Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic and fluid style of yoga that places a strong emphasis on the connection between breath and movement. This seamless synchronisation of the two creates a harmonious and gracious flow where one posture smoothly transitions to the next in a meditative, dance-like sequence. Because of this breath-led, organic unfolding of movement, Vinyasa yoga is often referred to as "flow yoga".

Hatha - The Basis
Hatha Yoga is a foundational style of yoga, that provides the building blocks for other styles. Typically characterized by a slower pace, it is considered a gentle practice, emphasising holding individual poses for longer periods, usually between 5 to 7 breaths, with less emphasis on continuous flow between them. This allows for a more static, alignment-focused practice, that facilitates relaxation, concentration, and a deeper sense of mindfulness.

Yin - The Quiet One
Yin Yoga is a slow, quiet practice that focuses on passive, long-held poses, typically ranging from 3 to 5 minutes or even longer. This prolonged duration allows for a deep stretch and release of tension targeting the fascia and connective tissues, cultivating a calming effect and a sense of inner peace. It is often considered a complement to more active, yang-style practices, as it provides a counterbalance by offering a slower and more introspective approach to physical and mental well-being.

Mixed
Mixed Classes are a balanced combination of a dynamic yoga style (Vinyasa or Hatha) and a passive one (Yin). In a 65-minute class, this translates to 40 minutes of Vinyasa or Hatha and 25 minutes of Yin.
